Overview
Abraham Lincoln was the President of the United States on Earth-5501.
History
Engrossed in a show in Ford's Theatre, Lincoln and his wife, Mary, didn't notice when a mysterious stranger in a black cloak snuck into their balcony and pulled a gun. Before the shot could be fired, a second figure hiding in the shadows of the theatre roof appeared and confronted the would-be assassin. When the assassin tossed aside his cloak to reveal a steam-powered suit of armor and begin to engage his rescuer, Lincoln picked up an axe mounted on the nearby wall and joined in the fight. In the end, the pair was able to stop the mechanical maniac and parted ways on good terms, allowing the reconstruction of the Union to continue unabated.
