Several bank messengers have developed amnesia while delivering funds. No trace of the money is found and the messengers remember nothing. Clark Kent writes an article on the robberies which draws public pressure on the police. Clark then learns about a renowned hypnotist, Medini, from Lois Lane. Lois goes to visit Medini followed by Superman. Lois wants to learn Superman’s secret identity from Medini. The crook hypnotizes Lois, while Superman sneaks in and takes care of Medini’s assistant who is faking a supernatural voice. Worried that Lois, as a reporter, will expose him, Medini tries to blank Lois’s memory. Superman bursts in the room and is weakened by Medini’s hypnotic power.

Medini escapes with Lois and travels aboard a transport plane carrying gold. He hypnotizes passengers and crew, forcing it to land where the gold can be removed. Then his assistant flies the plane up and bails out, leaving it to crash. Superman, having finally overcome Medini’s spell, arrives to save the plane, rescue Lois, catch the thieves, and recover the gold.
