Addie and Hermy - The Nasty Nazis[1] was a comic strip created during the 1940s by the Dundee-based publishing-firm DC Thomson and Co, appearing in The Dandy.[1] Whilst the United Kingdom was fighting World War II, the comic strip was a form of propaganda satirising and mocking the Nazi politicians Adolf Hitler and Hermann Göring, using typical German stereotypes and speech to portray the characters.[2] The BBC states that they were 'usually embroiled in a scam that went wrong'.[1] A similar comic by the same publishing firm referred to Benito Mussolini as a 'wop'.[1]
