Synopsis for "The Man Who Lost an Elevator"Edit

An elevator operator has souped up his elevator so much that when tenants wish to use it he must set it for hotel use first. A gangster rents a room and when a rival gang pursues him to rub him out he threatens the old man to take him up to his room this minute. The old man says he can't because it isn't set for hotel use. The gangster clouts him on the head with the butt of a gun and presses the up button himself causing the elevator to launch through the hotel roof into the sky.

An old woman who shoplifts to feed her cats is arrested and sentenced to one week in jail. The cats spring her from jail and when the police attempt to track her down they find one new large addition to the cats with a strawberry cheek mark similar to the old woman's.
