Synopsis for "The Statue of Gold"

The Fly is kidnapped by a gang of apparent crooks, posing as a group of adventurers. He is taken to Egypt because they want him to reveal the whereabouts of the Statue of Gold. Cat Girl comes to his rescue, in hopes that he will reveal the whereabouts of the statue to her first. Unfortunately, when the Fly says that he knows nothing about the treasure, Cat Girl leaves him at the mercy of the kidnappers.

The criminals then apologize to the Fly and confess that everything was a stupid, almost tragic practical joke. The men are indeed a group of adventurers and there really is no such statue. Ironically, deep in a hidden chamber, Cat Girl confides to a Sphinx that the Statue of Gold is still safe from the eyes of the prying humans.
