Synopsis for "The Desperate Dilemma of Dippy Drake"

Reformed pickpocket Dippy Drake is recruited by crime boss Sleazy Slugg to steal evidence from the district attorney. Dippy refuses, claiming that he has given up crime. However, he has unconsciously stolen Slugg's watch. When Dippy finds the stolen watch and other items, he believes Slugg has framed him. Slugg discovers that Dippy has stolen his watch and takes his men to kill the pickpocket. Green Lantern intercepts Slugg, but can't arrest him. Why not? Slugg then plans an accident for the D.A. He steals the evidence himself and returns to his hide-out. Dippy then leads Green Lantern to the hide-out where the evidence is recovered, and Slugg is arrested. Green Lantern then shows Dippy that his pickpocketing has become a subconscious routine. Dippy promises to reform.

Synopsis for "Who is The Atom?"

Mary James is assigned to learn the Atom's secret identity for her college newspaper. She hires two men, Basil and Boris, as thugs to bait a trap for Atom. When Atom arrives to meet Mary, the thugs knock him out. Mary then learns they plan to commit a robbery for real. She unties Atom, and he stops them. He then learns that the men are artists down on their luck, so instead of turning them in to police, he helps them get back on their feet legally. Mary doesn't learn Atom's secret, but she gets another story about the debut of two new artists.

Synopsis for "The Man who Spoke in Whispers"

A gang of bank robbers approach bank teller Oliver Upp and threaten him. Upp is ordered to leave the bank unlocked at night when he leaves. The teller is so frightened by the threat that he loses his voice. Upp visits Dr. McNider for help with his voice. He can only speak in whispers. He tells McNider about the crooks, so the doctor assumes his other identity to deal with them. Doctor Mid-Nite brings Upp along while he fights the crooks. The excitement helps Upp regain his voice. Dr. Midnite apprehends the crooks, and Upp returns to his teller job without fear.

Synopsis for "Prison Camp Invaders"

In the South Pacific, Hop Harrigan and Tank Tinker parachute behind enemy lines to rescue a captive intelligence officer from the Japanese. They are unable to find the officer, and they are nearly captured by a native tribesman. Tank takes an idol from the islanders, and they escape. While Hop scouts the territory, Tank is captured by the Japanese. He is scheduled to be executed. Hop finds the officer, Captain Taylor, disguised as a native. Taylor explains that secret plans are inside the idol, so Hop and Taylor rescue Tank in native disguises. The trio escapes the island with the plans aboard a Japanese fighter plane.
