History

Thus far, nothing has been revealed concerning how many successful murders this group was responsible for before it was brought down.

In addition to Breathtaker, the group's known operatives were Stratos, Incognito and Mindboggler. There may have been others, but again, this has not yet been confirmed.

The group succeeded in keeping a low profile until the time when they were hired by Henry Hewitt, in his capacity as a member of 2000 Committee, to slay the super-hero Firestorm I. All three of the team's known operatives tried in succession to do so, and all three failed. Incognito ultimately cracked and led Firestorm to the Bureau's lair, at which point the hero defeated both Breathtaker and Mindboggler and saw to their arrests. This apparently spelled the end of the Assassination Bureau, as no further murders have been attributed to them since then. However, it remains possible that at some point in the future, either Breathtaker or someone else will start the Bureau up again.
