Trivia
- There are some callbacks to the original Crisis on Infinite Earths in this episode, including:
- Harbinger being infected by the Anti-Monitor which mirrors her counterpart being corrupted in Crisis on Infinite Earths #1;
- The meeting between Lyla and the Anti-Monitor is vaguely reminiscent of their counterparts' meeting from Crisis on Infinite Earths #2.
- Constantine's appearance in the second part of the crossover is a nod to his comic counterpart's appearance in Crisis on Infinite Earths #4 which marked his second appearance (after his introduction in Swamp Thing Vol 2 #37) in any DC story.
- The DC realities from this episode also follow the pattern of being named after an important year.
- Earth-96 is named after 1996 which featured the release of Kingdom Come and the first premiere of Superman: The Animated Series.
- Earth-167 is named after 1967 which is the birth year of Alfred Gough, the creator of Smallville.
- The alternate realities from this episode also contain many homages to some DC storylines:
- Earth-96 is also inspired by the Kingdom Come comic series as the Joker had killed the Daily Planet's employees, including Lois and Peery, causing Clark to wear a suit similar to the Kingdom Come Superman's;
- Earth-167 is set 10 years after the ending of the series. Clark has given up his powers after a long career as Superman in order to raise her daughters with Lois which is vaguely inspired by the iconic Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? storyline;
- Earth-75 features Superman's death which is a nod to the Death of Superman storyline. The universe is named after Superman Vol 2 #75 where Doomsday killed Superman;
- Bruce Wayne of Earth-99 is inspired by the Batman of Earth-31 from Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns saga. In this reality, he finally snapped and killed all of his rogues and Superman who left him injured and forced him to wear an exo-suit like the Batman of Kingdom Come.
- Oliver Queen being brought back to life by a Lazarus Pit as a feral beast mirrors the resurrections of Sara Lance[2] and Roy Harper[3] as well as Thea Queen's state after being healed by the Pit.[4]
- On Earth-74, the Legends disbanded after the death of one of them. Given that their Waverider has a Leonard Snart-based A.I. and Rory owns Snart's Cold Gun, he probably is the one who died.
- This is a reference to Earth-1 Snart dying during the events of DC's Legends of Tomorrow episode, "Destiny".
- Earth-74's Rory trying to become a novelist mirrors his Earth-1 counterpart becoming a successful novelist as "Rebecca Silver". Earth-74 Rory's novel, "Caged Passion", is also a nod to his counterpart's famous novel, "Uncaged Desire".
- Lex Luthor planned the anti-Superman campaign in the epilogue of the all-out war between the Council of Luthors and the Council of Supermen.[5]
- The Multiverse Map originally appeared in The Flash episode, "A Flash of the Lightning".
- The main picture on the article about the Daily Planet attack from Earth-96 mirrors the same page about Joker's attack on the Daily Planet from Kingdom Come #1.
- One of the photos on the Daily Planet articles from Kent Farm on Earth-167 represents the iconic, final scene of Smallville.[6]
- Earth-167 Lex Luthor becoming President of the United States in late 2010s references a recurring concept from Smallville.[6][7]
- Sara Lance gives Earth-18 Hex the iconic scar that his Earth-1 counterpart, who is also Sara's friend, has always had.[8]
