Mr. Scudder, a private investigator for fifteen years, was hired by May Parker to investigate Richard and Mary Parker[1]. He checked them and they seemed alright, so he quit the job[2].
When Aunt May insisted, Scudder ran into the trouble with the police, as the neighbors reported to see him loitering around Aunt May's House[3]. He then quit the job for good and suspected May Parker needed professional help[4].
