Birdman & Chicken (real names Dick Lane and Chic Dodds) were a rather inept pair of superheroes who rampaged through the pages of Krazy Comic from issue #9 in 1976 to the title's cancellation in 1978 (and continued to appear in the Krazy Holiday Specials until 1983). Clearly inspired by the cult 1960s TV show Batman, they even went as far as spoofing Batman villains like the Catwoman and ending episodes with 'next time' trailers in the style of the TV show's continuity announcements, and the strip's logo was deliberately patterned after the Batman logo then in use. The strip, which was mostly drawn by Trevor Metcalfe, was later reprinted in Buster from 1988 onwards.
