History
The chosen weapon of the World War II heroine Phantom Lady, the Black-Light Ray is a small, cylindrical projection unit which is fastened to the top of her wristband. It generates a wave of energy which simulates the effects of total darkness. Phantom Lady used the ray to distract opponents or obfuscate her own movements, enabling her to defeat them with greater efficiency. As the darkness wave blinded all within its path, Phantom Lady required a pair of goggles equipped with specially crafted lenses, which allowed her to see through her own darkness projection. In 1942, Sandra made several upgrades to the device and used it in service to the All-Star Squadron.
