A department store owner is shot and Ruth Ransom hears the whole thing. She throws a toy doll out the window so her waiting boyfriend, Paul (the Fox), knows where she is. He rushes to her rescue, but there is no corpse to be found or any foul play. The Fox begins to look for the lost corpse. While searching the store, he is shot at. He chases his assailant and hears Ruth screaming as she is being strangled. He leaps in the room and punches out the thug. It is later revealed that the corpse is in the store's display window and the crook was embezzling from his partner.
