- The Falcon intoduces his new "Hawk Hook" this issue. The grappling device propelled from his right gauntlet allows him to swing from rooftop to rooftop. He will continue to use this device until he recieves "wings" in Captain America #170.
- This is the first appearance of Leila Taylor. She will become Sam Wilson's romantic ineterst and will become a long-time recurring character. Her last name is revealed in Captain America #188.
- Sgt. Muldoon is introduced in this issue. He is a police sergeant who berates Steve Rogers similarly as Sgt. Mike Duffy did during World War II. Muldoon will be a recurring character until Captain America 159.
- From John Romita Sr.: Muldoon is a update for Sgt. Duffy. Romita used Jack Kirby as the model for the character. From: Alter Ego, Vol 3, #35 (2004).
- This issue features a letters page, Let's Rap With Cap. Letters are published from James C. Fish, Nils Osmar, and Jim Haney. This issue also features an advertisement for Iron Man #39.
