Dan Dare is a fictional character who had his own strip in Fawcett Comics' Whiz Comics (appearing in its first issue dated February 1940).
A skilled detective and crime fighter (helped by his assistant Carol Clews), Dare's adventures appeared in Whiz Comics during the title's earliest years.
