Synopsis for "Portals of Power part 1: The Mutant Agenda"
At the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants’ hideout, the group’s members squabble with each other until Toad tells them he has found a weapon they can use to crush their enemies: Portal’s armor. At Crestone Research in Manhattan, scientists are studying the armor when Portal teleports in to retrieve it and knocks them out. Guardsmen protecting the armor attack him, and the ensuing battle spills into the street. Working as an intern at a radio station, Chris hears about the fight from a traffic report. Upon hearing Portal’s name, he spills coffee on his boss, disc jockey Traci Fields, then ducks into the break room to transform into Darkhawk and flies off to investigate. At the Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson offers photographer Peter Parker a raise to cover the battle. Parker dons his costume as Spider-Man and heads for the battle site. The Guardsmen capture Portal, but the Brotherhood arrives and frees him. Not trusting them, he flees, and they start killing Guardsmen. Darkhawk arrives to stop them and attacks. Sauron tries to hypnotize him, but Spider-Man appears and saves him. Just as Portal reclaims his armor, Blob demands he turn it over. The Brotherhood wants its teleportation capabilities, but Portal reveals it is he, not the armor, that teleports, and Blob realizes Portal is a mutant. In the Queens amusement park where Chris found the Darkhawk amulet, a voice orders his predecessor to capture him or else suffer forever. Portal fends off Blob and helps Darkhawk and Spider-Man overpower the rest of the Brotherhood. Blob steals a car, helps Toad gather up their teammates, and drives off, but Portal blasts the car, causing it to crash. Wanting answers about the origin of their similar armors, Darkhawk convinces Portal to stay and let the Avengers or Fantastic Four analyze their powers. Suddenly, Sleepwalker appears, intent on claiming Portal’s armor for himself.
