Synopsis for the 1st Story

A mysterious woman belonging to the CIA goes rogue and stole a nuclear briefcase. Within an hour later, the news of the theft reached to the office of FBI Chief J. Edgar Hoover who brief with Generals Stryfe and Cable. Fortunately, Cable notes the fact that the briefcase needs two keys to operate. In which the location of the said keys are top secret. In so, without the need of alerting President Ike Eisenhower, Cable suggest Hoover of recruiting one of their best agents to intercept the threat before it present itself to the general public: Wade Wilson aka Deadpool. General Stryfe is beleaguered to hear this, as Wilson, a Canadian, is legally insane. But, Cable's choice of Wilson remains unaltered and Hoover request a full psychological test run on Wilson before being deployed.

At that moment, Wilson is in Southeast Asia playing Russian Roulette in which he guns down several communist officers who were attending. He heads back to his hotel before soldiers arrive on the scene, and dresses into his costume as Deadpool. Soon soldiers break down his door, but fell to his trap and leaving one alive. Deadpool has the surviving soldier tied to the wheel of a mobile army truck and had it crash into a dockyard facility, destroying it in a massive explosion before escaping to an American submarine.

Wilson is brought back to the U.S. where he begins his psychological evaluation and revealing his personal history. Wilson had no family, friends, or any other relationships that mean anything to him. He entered military service during World War Two for the purpose of killing the "bad people" for the fun of it, in which he was a part of the infamous Merrill's Marauders. He and the Marauders fought in the Burma Campaign and tasked in liberating Singapore from the Japanese 18th Division using hit-and-run tactics; however, the 18th Division's supply and communication lines were severely undermined by the Marauders and Wilson was captured and taken to the Fukuoka Prisoner of War Camp outside of Kyushu, Japan, where he was tortured daily for nearly a year. Throughout his ordeal, Wilson bear the punishment which ultimately broke his sanity (or in Wilson's belief, becoming the "real me"). Near the end of his torture, he was left hanging on thumb-holds to be drown after long refusing to cooperate with his torturer. But he escaped and killed his torturer in his sleep with his swords in which he stole his mask and weapons that he now use. When asked by his psychologist as to how he escaped, Wilson revealed that he ate his thumbs while removing one of his prosthetic thumbs.

The psychologist evaluates his final analysis to Cable and find that Wilson's ordeal as a P.O.W. had two voices inside his head, and as well developing an alternate personality (counting as three) as Deadpool. In which he dresses up in his costume as his way of dealing with the torture he suffered at the hands of the Japaneses. Thus he became his torturer, and becoming the thing he feared. Concluding that he is a genuine psychotic that is a danger to society and needed to be institutionalized immediately. However, Cable gives the psychologist a new file that will approve Wilson regardless.

Cable debrief Wilson of the nuclear briefcase theft, the keys for the briefcase being located to the President himself, who is now being heavily guarded, and that the other's whereabouts is unknown, even to the CIA. Also concerning is the creator of the suitcase, Doctor Jackson Hammer, has been under the radar for over a year in which Cable fears that if either the Russians and/or the Chinese caught Hammer, everything will be over for the U.S. and that Wilson must eliminate the rogue agent. When Wilson ask as to who he is going to kill, Cable identify the agent that Wilson knows: Inez Temple aka Outlaw.
