History

Dinah Laurel Lance is the daughter of Dinah Drake and Starling City police captain Quentin Lance. She is the older sister of Sara and the frequent flame of Oliver Queen.

In 2007, Oliver and Laurel were dating. Unbeknownst to her, Oliver was cheating on her with her sister, Sara, and even took her on the Queen's Gambit with him. When tragedy struck, her boyfriend and sister's betrayal was revealed, along with the news that they may be dead. Her parents separated, and Quentin began to have a drinking problem, forcing Laurel to become her own woman early.

Five years later, Oliver Queen has been rescued from the island Lian Yu and was brought back to Starling City. Complications get in the way of a happy reunion, particularly the fact that not only was Oliver cheating on her with her sister, but he practically lead Sara to her death, ruining their lives. Eventually, they reconcile.

They were able to combine into a bo-staff. Nightstick: As the Canary, she uses a police style baton to fight.
