Synopsis for "Body Double"
In the East River, Doc Samson grapples with the monster as Det. Sharp and the NYPD watch from shore. Reporter Rudy Pinkerton asks Sharp to comment on the case, but she refuses and tosses his tape recorder in the river. Meanwhile, She-Hulk arrives at the previous crime scene and is immediately slammed into a wall by Patchwork. She barrages him with punches, but he is unfazed and boasts he will take everything she has. At the bottom of the river, the monster changes shape, and Samson knocks it out. Patchwork drains She-Hulk’s gamma energy, and she reverts to her Jennifer Walters before passing out. Obsessed with green eyes, Patchwork drags his latest victim and Jennifer away. Back at the river, Samson pulls the monster ashore and tells Sharp it is not Patchwork but rather a woman. Later at Sharp’s precinct, Samson uses a special Geiger counter he made and determines the woman mimics nearby gamma-powered superhumans. Sharp dubs her Geiger. Elsewhere, Pinkerton’s newspaper incorrectly reports that Patchwork has been caught. At the precinct, Samson has Geiger recall Patchwork’s most recent murder. Horrified, Geiger insists she is not like Patchwork, and Samson has her mimic him instead, restoring her to human form. A brick crashes through a window, and an officer reports a mob has formed outside believing Patchwork is there due to Pinkerton’s article. Samson goes out to tell them Patchwork is not there and uses a fence railing to force the mob back. In the sewers, Patchwork learns his victim’s eyes are not really green—she wore contact lenses—and flies into a rage. Geiger senses this and warns Sharp that he will kill again. Outside, Samson consoles the mother of one of Patchwork’s victims and promises to stop him. Then, he goes back inside, finds Geiger wearing his old costume, and grudgingly accepts her help in tracking down Patchwork.
