Synopsis for "The Terrible Secret of Negative Man"

An airplane carrying French movie star Mademoiselle Soullet is about to crash because the pilot has suffered a heart attack and the plane is almost out of fuel. Before they can talk Soullet into landing the plane, it is instead rescued by the combined efforts of the Doom Patrol. When Soullet asks Larry to accompany her home, this causes Rita to become jealous of the attention the French starlet is showing towards him. However unknown to the Doom Patrol, "Soullet" is really their foe Madame Rouge of the Brotherhood of Evil, who intends to use Larry's Negative Man abilities for their own personal gain, using the Soullet guise to manipulate the hero.

At Doom Patrol headquarters, the Chief replaces the radioactive bandages that are used to keep Larry's powers in check and he later tells the other members that he is going to show Soullet around the city as she doesn't know anyone in town, this also irks Rita. Soullet takes Larry to the abandoned grounds of the 1950 World's Fair where she tells him that her father was a famous inventor and that his patents were all destroyed, however the only remaining copies of his inventions were burred in a time capsule on the fair grounds. She asks Larry to use his Negative Man powers to penetrate the capsule and take pictures of the inventions so that she may secure the patents, a request that Larry is more than happy to comply with.

The device, a machine that can increase the size of small objects is what the Brotherhood of Evil seeks to collect and replicate. With her mission a success, Madame Rouge is joined by her leader the Brain and Monsieur Mallah, who work together to recreate the ray. When Rita stumbles upon this plot, she decides to expose to Larry that Soullet is really their enemy Rouge. However, she is captured by the Brotherhood and Larry is forced to comply with their command anyway: Putting toy soldiers and tanks around Federal Reserve. Aboard a helicopter, the Brotherhood would then use their growing device to make the toy soldiers and tanks grow to proportionate sizes of the real objects they have been crafted after. Fully functional, under the Brotherhood's control, these automatons break into the reserve in an attempt to steal it's supply of gold.

At Doom Patrol headquarters, the Chief explains to Robotman that he was suspicious of "Mademoiselle Soullet" from the start and had Larry play along to see what he game was, he then send Robotman to join his friends. Larry and Rita are set free after the Brotherhood manages to steal the gold. Larry realizes that there is only one way to stop the automatons from making off with the stolen loot. Removing his bandages, he reveals that he is completely radioactive (making his skin transparent) using the rays from his own body deactivates all the toy soldiers and tanks that are being operated by remote control. However a manually operated tank is unaffected, and Larry is saved at the last minute by the timely arrival of Robotman.

Madame Rouge and one of her cohorts try to get away, however are easily captured by Robotman when her sleep gas bomb fails to affect him. Later they show her that the device that they used had a flaw and that eventually whatever they used the ray on would eventually decompose. After the battle is over, Rita expresses that she is glad Larry is okay.
