Overview
Doomsday is an ancient Kryptonian monster with the ability to quickly adapt to its surrounding. It acted as an enemy of Superman until it was brainwashed to join his Regime.
History
Before Metropolis
Before the destruction of Metropolis by the Joker, Superman and Doomsday fought each other on Earth once before, resulting in the apparent death of Superman. In the aftermath, Lex Luthor created clones of the man of steel, one of them being Superboy. Superman eventually returned to life, and Doomsday disappeared.
Destruction of Metropolis
In a plot to ruin Superman, the Joker kidnapped Lois Lane and implanted a heartbeat monitor inside her connected to a nuclear bomb within the city. The Joker infected Superman with Kryptonite-laced fear toxin, forcing him to see his wife Lois as Doomsday. Superman brought "Doomsday" to space to fight the monster but accidentally killed his wife, causing Metropolis to be destroyed by the bomb. Having lost everything, Superman killed the Joker.
Year Five

Five years after the destruction of Metropolis, Doomsday finally reappeared, crash landing on Earth and shattering the Flash's leg in the process. Doomsday challenged Superman to a fight and battled the man of steel like he had done once before. Thanks to a surprise intervention from Bane, wishing to join Superman's Regime, Doomsday was defeated and delivered to Lex Luthor for "reconditioning".[1]
After some time, Luthor successfully brainwashed Doomsday and kept the monster housed within the Fortress of Solitude. With Luthor's imperfect Superman clone Bizarro accidentally creating havoc around the world, Luthor ordered his clone to the Fortress to have Doomsday destroy it, washing his own hands of any evidence of Bizarro's creation. Doomsday, under control of Luthor, ambushed Bizarro, but Superman, wanting Bizarro to be taken alive for evidence, intervened in their fight. Luthor saw the opportunity to finally beat Superman and end his Regime and secretly ordered Doomsday to direct his attention to the real Superman instead of the impostor. Though Doomsday almost killed Superman, Luthor ordered Doomsday back to attacking Bizarro, guilty over his decision. Doomsday successfully killed the clone, protecting Luthor's identity as its creator.[2]
Fall of the Regime

After Superman killed Lex Luthor and Shazam, he instructed the Flash and Yellow Lantern to "get Doomsday ready" for the impending attack on Metropolis and Gotham. When an alternate-reality Superman arrived to fight the Regime, Doomsday was summoned to combat him but was defeated and thrown into the Phantom Zone.[3]
Possible Post-Regime Epilogue
Upon beating "Classic" mode in Injustice: Gods Among Us or "Multiverse" mode in Injustice 2 with any playable fighter, the player would receive a possible alternate ending to the game's story featuring their fighter. These alternate histories should not be seen as relevant to future sequels or comic adaptations.
Free of Superman's control, Doomsday eradicated the remaining meta-humans. He then manipulated technology in the abandoned Fortress of Solitude to terraform the Earth. It soon resembled prehistoric Krypton. At last, it felt like home.
After a few years of exterminating humanity at his leisure, however, Doomsday needed a challenge. Having assimilated Superman's ability to fly, he headed for a nearby space sector. He had heard rumors of an opponent worthy of his attention: a Czarnian mercenary with a taste for violence. Doomsday was eager to meet this "Lobo" in battle.

- Superhuman Strength: Doomsday has almost limitless levels of strength. He can match Superman's brute strength and can punch him so hard to send him from Metropolis to space and make him land in Gotham City.[4] He can cause building to collapse and fall on one another like dominoes[5] and was able to briefly get the upper hand in his fight against the good Superman until Harley Quinn intervened.[6]
- Super-Leaping: Doomsday can leap from Metropolis to Gotham City.[4]
- Invulnerability: Doomsday is immune to almost all forms of damage and even blows from Superman can barely slow him down.[4]
- Superhuman Stamina:: Doomsday has almost inexhaustible stamina that he can use to keep fighting and fighting.[4]
Weaknesses
- Natural Lower Intellect: Doomsday is not a very intelligent being and is obsessed with destruction and killing Superman.[4]

- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the video game Injustice: Gods Among Us and is an adaptation of Doomsday. The original character was created by Dan Jurgens and first appeared in Superman: The Man of Steel #17.
