History

The Empire of Tears was a magic-dominant domain created from the Five Inversions, survivors of the Massacre of Sector 666, whose purpose was to destroy the Guardians of the Universe for their responsibility for the massacre. The domain centered in its throneworld of Ysmault and stretched over three galaxies. Ultimately, the Empire of Tears was destroyed by the Guardians and the Five Inversions were imprisoned on Ysmault as they worked to replace the dominance of magic with that of science.
