Synopsis for "Things That Go Shriek in the Night"
With Captain Britain drugged and in her thrall, Sat-Yr-9 orders her henchwomen to find Shadowcat then takes Brian to bed. Using her phasing power, Kitty has been secretly watching and recoils remembering their past friendship. Injured by Jamie Braddock, Kitty passes out in a space between the manor’s walls. Hours later, Nigel Frobisher watches Jamie Braddock torture Excalibur and their friends, warping their bodies into grotesque forms. Psylocke telepathically links with Brian, and he relates how Sat-Yr-9 was overthrown on her native Earth, escaped to this one, killed Courtney Ross, and took her place. She then recruited agents, had Jamie rescued from imprisonment, and used him and Nigel Frobisher to take over the Vixen’s criminal empire. Suddenly, Jamie interrupts their link and forces Psylocke back to her body. Meanwhile, Shadowcat wakes up and overpowers Sat-Yr-9’s henchwomen. Upstairs, Sat-Yr-9 kills Frobisher after catching him about to murder Captain Britain. Disguised as one of Sat-Yr-9’s guards, Kitty fights past Vixen’s minions and tries to force Jamie to restore Excalibur to normal. He refuses and starts to torture Kitty, but Meggan uses her shapeshifting power to free herself and beats him unconscious. Excalibur and their friends revert to normal, but Sat-Yr-9 orders the enslaved Brian to attack and kill Meggan. He breaks free of her control, and the team fights back. Kitty tranquilizes Sat-Yr-9, and Psylocke knocks out Jamie with her psychic knife, but Sat-Yr-9’s minions collect her and Jamie then flee in a flying shuttle. Brian flies after them, but they fend him off by electrifying the shuttle’s hull. He vows revenge, but Kurt says the team needs to recover first. Nine days later, Alistaire and Excalibur attend Alysande’s funeral in Scotland. Nick Fury of SHIELD appears, confirms Alysande was framed for spying, and provides Alistaire with evidence to exonerate her.
