Synopsis for "Amber Hunt is Mine!"
The armored supervillain Supreme Soviet attacks a high school with robotic Cybernoids to kidnap student Amber Hunt, but three superheroes from the Exiles team—Deadeye, Tinsel, and Trax—arrive to stop him. They disable the Cybernoids, but Supreme Soviet gets to Amber and injures Trax. When Supreme Soviet rockets into the air, Deadeye binds his legs with a bola, causing him to crash into a nearby building. The three Exiles take Amber to Stronghold, their island base off the California coast. There, she meets their leader, Dr. Rachel Deming, and another member, Ghoul. Deming explains Amber’s life is in danger because she is a “potential”, but the girl is bratty and ungrateful. Deming goes to the infirmary where her assistant Heather Faraday is attending to Trax. He feigns unconsciousness and gropes Heather who then tells him off and leaves. In Los Angeles, Supreme Soviet reports back to his boss, Malcolm Kort of Visionary Productions. For failing to capture Amber, Kort has Soviet placed in a containment pod and has his scientist Wendell Deeters explain the Theta Syndrome: it is an infection with a virus that triggers severe mutations, sometimes including superhuman powers. Those infected are known as potentials. Kort and Deeters subject Supreme Soviet to a modification process intended to control the mutations, causing his muscle mass to swell. He breaks out of the pod but immediately withers and dies. In San Diego, Exiles Catapult and Mustang fly to the home of potential Timmy Halloran only to find two of Kort’s henchmen—Bloodbath and Bruut—beat them there. Catapult attacks, hurling Bruut into Timmy’s house, and Bloodbath fights back. Mustang subdues Bloodbath with his powers, and Timmy runs inside to check on his mom. Bruut has her by the throat, and Mustang fails to stop him from snapping her neck. Bloodbath knocks out Catapult and takes Timmy. Moments later, Catapult and Mustang wake up and realize they have failed. Mustang resolves to take down Bloodbath.
