Synopsis for the 1st Story

Remembering her mother Alexandra’s murder, Spellcaster questions why her mother introduced her to her magical heritage and passed on her spellbook. Looking through Tundra’s eyes, she sees Alexandra captive and in chains. Scythe claims she acquired Alexandra’s soul at the moment of death and offers to release it in exchange for the spellbook. Maelstrom teleports back to Spellcaster’s house, and Spellcaster says the spellbook is in a special chest only she can open. She then teleports both of them and the chest to Scythe’s palace in Hell. Upon arrival, they grapple with each other, and Maelstrom nearly yanks off Spellcaster’s spellbook talisman. Scythe stops her, fearing it would undo the teleportation spell. Before Spellcaster will open the chest, she demands Scythe release Tundra and present her mother; Scythe complies. Spellcaster opens the chest, but then her mother reveals herself to be a demoness impostor and rips free of her chains. In the chest, Scythe and Maelstrom find only a teddy bear and realize Spellcaster duped them. Maelstrom restrains her, but Tundra yanks off Spellcaster’s talisman, undoing her teleportation spell. Before she and Tundra vanish back to her home, the demoness grabs her legs and goes with them. After tying up Spellcaster and stealing some of her clothes, the demoness explains she had to escape Hell at all costs. She then says she is not Spellcaster’s enemy and leaves the talisman on her dresser.
