Synopsis for the 1st Story

Hours after Chapel’s defeat, Judas enters the ruins of Youngblood headquarters and, per Crypt’s instructions, captures his essence in a containment device.  After she leaves, a cloaked figure arrives with a similar device.  Flying away, Judas recalls her failure to kill Prophet and being teleported to safety by Crypt just before Prophet’s reprogrammed Disciple, DS-9, self-destructed. Crypt then showed her the containment device and instructed her in its use in the event he was killed in battle. At his new base, Philip Omen watches his clone of Prophet train, assured by his technicians that they have the clone under control.  Later, Judas infiltrates the complex and releases the clone from stasis.  She then opens the containment device, enabling Crypt’s soul to merge with the clone and reshape it into his form.  Judas remembers her childhood in the future, being found and raised by Prophet, and her later recruitment by Crypt.  Omen enters with his armored guards and orders them to capture Crypt and Judas.  He shoots Judas, knocking her out, but Crypt slaughters his guards.  Rather than kill Omen, Crypt thanks him for creating the clone, warns him not interfere, picks up the unconscious Judas, and teleports away. Elsewhere, the cloaked figure reports to his cohorts, the Beholders, that he could only capture a small portion of Crypt’s essence.  They fear they have failed to stop Crypt, but the cloaked figure refuses to hear it.  He is Absolution, a future version of Prophet brought back in time by the Beholders, and he is determined to defeat Crypt.
