History

"Gadget" was originally employed by Willis Stryker and created gimmick switch-blades for Stryker to defeat Luke Cage. However, Stryker was defeated and Gadget was apparently incarcerated. Gadget is quite the inventor and later created and sold bombs to the highest bidder in the Manhattan area.

"Gadget Man", under duress, later produced and provided video evidence to Cage that Stryker had planted evidence that had led to Cage's arrest and conviction.

Gadget has always been quite terrified of Luke Cage and usually cooperates when the crime-fighter asks him for information.
