Synopsis for "Some of Us Looking to the Stars"
In a Manhattan alley, mutant thief Jubilee flees with stolen medical supplies from a patrol of Infinites. Two of her fellow X-Ternals, the super-strong Guido Carosella and the solar-powered Sunspot, come to her aid and overpower the Infinites. They then take the supplies to a human rebel safehouse overseen by another teammate, former rock star Lila Cheney. Afterward, the group returns to their hideout in the sewers beneath the city and finds the X-Men’s leader Magneto waiting for them. They move to attack, but their leader Gambit talks them down and explains Magneto needs their help. At a Lower Manhattan patrol station, the Infinites’ supervisor Rictor berates them for failing to capture the X-Ternals. Seeking a promotion, he insists they must catch the team tonight. Meanwhile, Magneto leads the X-Ternals through the tunnels to Apocalypse’s legendary Science Chamber. Lila hacks the security system to get inside, and they discover the Chamber is a vast astronomic observatory. A pack of Madri priests attack, but Magneto and the team swiftly defeat them while Sunspot finds Magneto’s contact, the Chamber’s librarian Dr. Peter Corbeau. Magneto had Corbeau study the Shi’ar Galaxy, the location of the crystal he wants the X-Ternals to steal. Lila is incredulous, but Magneto tells her she will take the team there. While Corbeau links Lila to the Chamber’s navigational system, Magneto reveals she is a mutant teleporter and that he rescued her from the Chamber years earlier. Just as Lila opens a portal, Rictor arrives with a squad of Infinites. Magneto holds the Infinites off as the X-Ternals are sucked into Lila’s portal, but Rictor jumps through after them. Once they are gone, Corbeau sets the Chamber to self-destruct and leaves with Magneto.
