Synopsis for "A Savage Breast part 2"

On a computer at a copy shop, Fairchild writes a letter to her late father describing her frustration with the song “So Happy to be Happy”, speculating that it is a toxic meme spreading out of control as a thought contagion.  She thinks wistfully of the happy endings of TV shows she watched as a child and wonders how she can get such an ending herself.  Once finished, she deletes the message and leaves to confront singer Candi Bentar whom she has located at a nearby hotel.  Caitlin finds the girl guarded by Mr. Majestic and, knowing he is essentially invulnerable, takes out her frustrations by attacking him.  Bentar appears and explains that the song itself is a sentient memetic entity.  Indeed, it, not Bentar, is the one speaking.  The song is using Bentar as a host and drawing brainpower from its listeners worldwide in order to research complex mathematical theory.  It spends the night discussing the theory with Caitlin and explains that, now that its research is complete, there will be popular backlash against it.  It offers to spin that backlash such that the rest of Gen 13 credits Caitlin for not liking the song.  Later, the team and Majestic denounce the song, give Caitlin credit, and they all share a laugh.
