Synopsis for "Bye"
Inside Mondo’s earthen form, Illyana hears him whistling and pushes her hand out through his chest. Disguised as the guard he absorbed earlier, he pushes her hand back in, but two guards spot him. Several levels above, Sugar Man reasons Chamber and Skin are not alone and impales Quietus with his extensible tongue, exposing Husk and Vincente. An explosion rocks the mine, signaling Colossus and Shadowcat’s arrival. Chamber reveals he telepathically faked his execution and seemingly blasts Sugar Man to pieces with a psionic blast. As Husk drags a wounded Vincente, Colossus orders Chamber and Skin to find Illyana. Sugar Man follows them, having regenerated himself in a shrunken form. Below, Mondo kills the guards who spotted him. Just as Chamber and Skin find Mondo, Sugar Man kills him and pulls Illyana from his body. Then, Colossus drops onto Sugar Man, grabs Illyana, and tears Sugar Man apart. Chamber gets Ace, and Husk carries Vincente, but a massive riot has broken out between the guards and the workers. Shadowcat phases out of Colossus’s form and saves him from an ambush, but the rioters grab Ace and kill Chamber and Skin. As Vincente succumbs to his wounds, Colossus insists saving Illyana is the team’s top priority and leaves with Shadowcat, leaving Husk behind. Once outside, Colossus leaves Illyana with Shadowcat and runs back into the Core. He opens the main door, sees Husk battling a horde of mutant guards alone, closes the door, and falls to his knees in grief. Later, he meets up with Shadowcat and Illyana, unaware Sugar Man has regenerated again and is hiding in his boot.
