Synopsis for "Hostile Takeover Resolution: Finale"
TV news reports on the severe volatility of UltraTech’s stock price while, on the roof of UltraTech headquarters, Prototype engages J.D. Hunt’s agent Teknight. In the basement, Ranger confronts Night Man and The Solution. Minutes earlier in the executive suite, Prototype, Ranger, and Felicia Campbell watched Gordon Bell go berserk and claim forces were moving against him. After seeing Teknight, Night Man, and The Solution arriving on his security monitor, Bell ordered Prototype and Ranger to stop them. Meanwhile, J.D. Hunt’s staff bought large quantities of UltraTech stock and filed with the U.S. government to take over the company. From his lair, Rex Mundi monitored these events with delight. Outside UltraTech’s building, Veil watched the firm’s security chief quit and used her powers to poison a reported that annoyed her. Now, Ranger fights The Solution until Tech takes control of his armor. On the roof, Prototype battles Teknight and finds they are evenly matched. Theodoric, the spirit inhabiting the Teknight armor, is impressed by Prototype and manages to paralyze it briefly. But, its wearer soon regains control and tackles Prototype through the roof and down into Bell’s office. Night Man, Ranger, and The Solution are there and watch as Teknight confronts Bell. Outside, Hunt arrives in a limousine and announces to reporters he is taking a controlling interest in UltraTech. As Bell sees Hunt’s announcement on TV, Teknight tries to attack him from behind, but Bell knocks him out. Tech explains how Hunt manipulated them all to cause chaos that depressed UltraTech’s stock value so he could buy it cheaply. Enraged, Bell orders them all to leave and flies through the roof. Once Night Man, Prototype, Ranger, and The Solution exit the building, Shadowmage erects a magic shield around them, and they watch as Bell blast the building, causing it to collapse. Bell declares he will come for Hunt and flies away.
