Synopsis for "Queen's Gambit"

Through the mirror Lord Silverfall sent her, Lady Demeter observes human civilization’s pollution of the environment. Enraged, she declares war on humanity and tells her guards to join her. When one guard—Flora—raises the need to keep watch over their frozen fellow Amazonians, Demeter knocks her out for her questioning. Guards Fauna and Katana pledge their fealty and leave with Demeter while another, Aria, stays to tend to Flora. Meanwhile, Glory and Sgt. Webb are on the scene of a housefire which cannot be put out with water. Glory douses it with a vat of chemicals, and the homeowner thanks her. Demeter arrives with her two guards, snubs Glory, and orders humanity not to build near trees. Fauna then destroys the house, and the Amazonians leave. Glory tells Webb that Demeter’s behavior is extremely out of character and goes to consult sorcerer Edmund Daedalus at his home. They discuss the situation until his servant Shao Lung enters and warns that a major bridge is reportedly being consumed by the river it crosses, but there is no flood. Glory goes to investigate and watches as the bridge twists and shakes until several of its suspension cables snap. To save people on the bridge, she grabs the snapped cables and holds the bridge up herself. Daedalus magically confirms Demeter is not possessed while, in Underworld, Silverfall laughs.
