Synopsis for "MundiQuest part 1: Trouble"

Gangster and ex-KGB agent Boris Karpovitch receives a video in the mail that shows his death via his spine being ripped out. As he and a henchman grab their guns, Trauma appears outside their window, and she kills them by telekinetically tearing their spines out. At LAPD headquarters, Hardcase briefs Chuck Brown on his recent adventures and asks for information on Rex Mundi. Brown tells him Mundi is a mythical underworld bogeyman, but Hardcase deduces a connection between Mundi, organized crime, and the slaughter of The Squad. Hardcase goes back to his RV, searches the internet for information on Mundi, and comes across a message board for mercenaries. Trouble reads the board and finds an ad seeking an Ultra to fight Hardcase. He answers it and later goes to meet the client at a biker bar in the desert. To his shock, the client is Hardcase. Hardcase asks about Mundi, and Trouble relates how Mundi hired him after he was injured on a job, turned him into an Ultra, placed him in Omega Team, and sent them after Hardcase. Mundi abandoned them on the Moon after they failed to acquire the Entity so Gate of Quattro teleported them back to Earth, arriving in the Sahara. In exchange for this info, Trouble wants Hardcase to kill Mundi. Both are unaware Mundi himself is at the bar listening. Trauma enters and sits next to him. Hardcase refuses Trouble’s request and starts to walk out. When Trouble tries to talk him into it, Mundi has Trauma telekinetically snap Trouble’s neck. Hardcase catches Trouble’s collapsing body, leading the other bar patrons to think he killed the man. Mundi and Trauma leaves as the bartender calls the authorities and Hardcase insists he is innocent.
