Overview
Joar Mahkent was a professional killer. His cryokinetic abilities earned him the nickname the Icicle.
History
His activities caused Mahkent to clash with the Justice Society of America. During one confrontation, Mahkent managed to kill the vigilante known as Hawkgirl.
However, this act brought on the wrath of Hawkman, who severely injured Mahkent and put him in a coma for the rest of his life. Years later, Mahkent's son, Cameron, pulled the plug on him.

- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the television series Smallville and its tie-in and comic book series, Smallville and Smallville Season 11. It is an adaptation of Joar Mahkent/Icicle. The original character was created by Robert Kanigher and Irwin Hasen and first appeared in All-American Comics #90.
- Joar Mahkent was played by Rick Dietrich.
