Synopsis for "Panic in the Sky"

Continuing from where "Flashpoint" left off in the Project Cadmus story arc, while part of the Justice League help deal with the aftermath caused by fusion generator cannon's energy blast, most of the original founding members of the team decide to turn themselves in as a show of good faith that they were not the ones who chose to fire the cannon. The rest of the Justice League remain on board the Watchtower satellite, trying to get the main power back online when they are being attacked by missiles carrying Ultimen clones in an all-out retaliatory assault. Galatea, who joined the assault, heads for the fusion reactor room in order to cause it to overload when she deals with Supergirl. Batman heads for Project Cadmus to confront Amanda Waller, telling her that the most likely person to have activated the fusion cannon was Lex Luthor, making her suspicious of what else Luthor had been doing behind her back. Waller tells Galatea to call off the attack, but Galatea ignores the order and continues to pummel Supergirl until the main power returns. Supergirl responds by fatally electrocuting Galatea with a power cable, stopping her threat once and for all. In the meanwhile, Lex Luthor is in a lab, finishing the robotic body he created for himself when Waller appears on the scene with a disruptor that melts the entire body. The Justice League also show up in the lab to bring Luthor to justice when he undergoes a transformation, revealing that Brainiac now lives inside Luthor's body.

Trivia

  • The Flash's response of "Batmobile lost its wheel, Joker got away" comes from a children's altered version of "Jingle Bells" which references Batman.
  • Supergirl defeating Galatea with a power cable can be seen as a stealth pun reference to Galatea being the DCAU counterpart of Power Girl, though Power Girl has shown up in the DCAU-related comic books.
