Synopsis for "The Advent of Tomorrow"Edit

Madame Xanadu has been teaching her apprentice Charlotte “Carly” Blackwood for three months now. Through intensive meditative training, she can once again eat without “seeing” things. Madame Xanadu then starts teaching her about looking into the future. A bit later, Madame X goes to visit Betty Reynolds. It’s been 10 years since their last meeting. Betty is now divorced and works as a cleaning lady in a church. She is angry at Madame X, and blames her for her misfortunes. Carly Blackwood had looked into the future, and saw things looking up for Betty. Madame X tells Betty to trust the bearded man that she will soon meet, but Betty does not want to hear it. Back at the shop, the Phantom Stranger drops in for a visit. They speak about the coming age, “The Age of Heroes”, and the rise of the heroes that will become the Justice League. Madame Xanadu commits to always being available to them in an advisory role, and she hopes to never see the Starnger again.

This story takes place in 1967.
