Matter-Eater Lad is a Bismollian member of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th Century. His natural biology allows him to consume any form of matter. This ability seems useless, but it makes him an unstoppable force when confined. He has also been part of the Legion Espionage Squad, and a United Planets senator. In Reboot Legion continuity, Tenzil Kem is the Legion's chef. In Prime Legion continuity, Agent Kem works for the government and monitors the Legion. Matter-Eater Lad was created by Jerry Siegel and John Forte, first appearing in Adventure Comics #303. (1962)
