Modora is a small European country nestled in the Balkans. The Modoran government previously established a very isolationist policy and is not affiliated with the United Nations and have little ties in the international community, as their only product was the wool of a peculiar breed of brown sheep that was bred in the area. Its despotic ruler, Fando the Mad, sought to keep Modora as an idyllic paradise by purging all modern science and technology. In which he exemplified by destroying all roads and bridges to effectively cut off his tiny kingdom from the outside world. However, Modora's isolation dramatically changed when its citizen Bito Wladon became the super-villain Sonar and ambitiously sought to make Modora a superpower. Although Sonar's plot was foiled by the Green Lantern, Modora gained international recognition in the process and even created its first postal stamp.[1]

Trivia
- There is an alternate Modora that exists in the Antimatter Universe and was the last European nation to resist and be conquered by the Crime Syndicate of Amerika. The nation was defended by the heroic Lady Sonar.[2]
