Synopsis for "This Woman, This Warrior!"

In New York City, a superheroine costumed like Captain Marvel uses her superhuman strength and psychic “seventh sense” to overpower four armed robbers outside a bank. Inside, the supervillain Scorpion steals bags of cash, subdues a security guard, and escapes. When police arrive and demand to question the superheroine, she flies away. An hour later at the Daily Bugle newspaper, publisher J. Jonah Jameson shows footage of the incident to writer Carol Danvers. He wants to her to edit his new women’s magazine and do a feature on this mystery heroine. She takes the job but only after he grudgingly accepts her requested salary. Leaving Jameson’s office, Carol meets photographer Peter Parker and his friend Mary Jane Watson. Peter says hello and exits, but Mary Jane asks to talk with Carol. In Brooklyn, Scorpion sneaks into the underground lab of weapons designer Kerwin Korman and buys it from him with the stolen loot. Meanwhile, Carol and Mary Jane walk to Carol’s penthouse off Central Park, and they discuss Carol’s past with Captain Marvel, her former job in security, and her new career as a writer. When Carol almost faints from a sudden migraine, Mary Jane leaves at her request, and Carol passes out on her bed. Outside the Daily Bugle, Scorpion ambushes Jameson and carries him away. Drawn to the Bugle, the superheroine flies in through a window and meets editor Robbie Robertson. He asks her name, but she does not know it. Police arrive to question her, but she senses Jameson is in danger and flies off. In Korman’s lab, Scorpion dangles Jameson over a vat of acid. He recalls when Jameson paid him to participate in a science experiment that left him trapped in the Scorpion suit, and now he wants to kill Jameson in revenge. The superheroine’s seventh sense guides her to the lab, and she fights past several booby traps before attacking Scorpion. They fight until she slams him into the vat, dousing him in acid. As Scorpion flees in pain, she frees Jameson and, citing her costume’s connection to Captain Marvel, dubs herself Ms. Marvel. The next morning at the Daily Bugle, Jameson demands Carol write an expose on Ms. Marvel, and Carol retreats to her office, wondering about the blackout spells she is having.
