A man with a sight impairment which makes him perceive objects upside down doesn't want to marry his girlfriend and she reads about his condition in his diary. He finds a doctor who can correct his perception and the girl has her's reversed so they can be married and neither tells the other that they've had their vision altered.

A derelict who works in a diner for room and board lives another life in his dreams and one of the characters tells him that it is not a dream and he will leave the derelict world at some point. When he disappears, the diner owner is perplexed because the diner is locked up and the man's clothes still lie on his cot as if he never existed.

A miner steals a twelve thousand dollar payroll and hides it in his lunchbox. A cavein occurs and he phones the foreman who says it will take them a week to reach him so he must ration the other men's lunchboxes who escaped the cavein. When he opens the other lunchboxes, he finds only money.
