Synopsis for "Possession"
Doctor Strange has located Daimon Hellstrom, who reminds him of how the Earth's mystical barriers are weakening and something now has breached it. And Hellstrom knows how they got here -- they have possessed him!
Meanwhile, in Avengers Tower, where all the superheroes are celebrating their victory at Asgard, Luke Cage objects to Steve Rogers' offer for him to become an Avenger again, thinking that it would mean that he has to take orders and moving in the Tower. Rogers assures him that he has a choice now. Furthermore, Tony Stark asks for one dollar, which Iron Fist is able to provide. The dollar is simply for the purchase of the newly renovated Avengers Mansion, so that Cage can form his own team. However, Rogers says that Thor and Iron Man are off limits.
In New Orleans, Doctor Voodoo is attempting to meditate, all the while, his ghost of a brother Daniel is urging him to studying all his mystic tomes. Then suddenly, Strange and Hellstrom appear in the Sanctum Sanctorum, asking for the Eye of Agamotto. Voodoo becomes suspicious, while Daniel urges him to run.
Meanwhile, the New Avengers are moving into Avengers Mansion. However, out of the front door is Norman Osborn's former assistant, Victoria Hand, brandishing a gun, and saying that she has a note for Cage. Cage warns her to put the gun down but she insists that he take the note she has in her hand. The note is from Rogers, to tell Cage that Hand is here to help him and it's best that they give her a second chance. When Cage asks about the gun, Hand answers that she knows that they hate her guts and could have killed her. Cage responded with a powerful clap, sending flying across the Mansion hallway, before walking up to her and demanding to know why she worked for Osborn. Hand defends that she was just trying to help the world and figured out that his way was the bad the hard way. Seeing their expressions, she guesses that she should leave, even though Rogers asked her to. Even though Jessica Jones objects, Luke can only watch Hand walk out the gates.
Meanwhile, Voodoo is attempting to fight his foes, despite his brother's urgings that he can't win this. Unfortunately, demonic creature seemingly destroy Daniel.
Back in New York, Cage, accompanied by Wolverine, approach Hand at a rooftop restaurant, noting how she wasn't disturbed by Osborn's actions. She presumed that he brought the latter to "stick" her, though Cage assures her that they are not as radical as Osborn. She explains that she thought that he believed in the greater good until he went off the edge and returned to prison, which is where she wants to be. When asked why she wanted to work with the New Avengers, she answers that they need someone to help with the difference between right and wrong; Wolverine could tell that she wasn't lying. Cage then accepts her into the Avengers
Cage has gotten the Thing, Wolverine, Mockingbird, Iron Fist, Hawkeye, Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel and his wife as the New Avengers. Then suddenly, the Eye of Agamotto appears in his hand, glowing with an orange aura. Next thing they know, Strange and Hellstrom appear, claiming that Dr. Voodoo is dead, demanding the Eye. When Wolverine senses something wrong with them, Cage demands to know whom he is speaking to, Strange answers simply, "The new ruler of this dimension." Then suddenly, the Eye possess Cage.
