Synopsis for "X-Tinction Agenda part 2: Shell Game"
Boom-Boom, Rictor, Storm, Warlock, and Wolfsbane materialize naked inside Genosha’s citadel. They are met by a massive cyborg with a scorpion-like body that Rictor recognizes as Cameron Hodge. They resist Hodge and his attending Magistrates until the mutant Wipeout shuts off their powers. At Xavier’s School, the other New Mutants and X-Men review the Magistrates’ attack and search for their captured teammates, finding only their clothes. Stevie Hunter says she has called X-Factor for help. In a cell in the Genoshan citadel, Warlock explains that the teleportation process drained his energy so Storm and the others let him take some from them. Hodge appears and reveals his intent to become a shape-shifter by having Warlock infect him with the transmode virus. Without their powers, Storm and the New Mutants fail to stop him from taking Warlock away. Hodge goes to demand the Genegineer’s help, and Warlock slips away while the two argue. Rahne comforts Rictor over his fear of Hodge as Warlock returns to the cell and shorts out the force field locking them inside. This leaves him too weak to escape so he has Storm and the others leave him behind when they run. Hodge soon recaptures him and orders the Magistrates to hunt down the others. Back at Xavier’s School, X-Factor arrives, and Cannonball informs the assembled teams of a call from the U.S. government about their captive teammates’ pending trial and execution. In the citadel, Wolfsbane suggests to Rictor that they split up, kisses him goodbye, and goes back for Warlock. She finds Hodge draining his energy and severs their connection, but Hodge and the Magistrates overpower her, and she watches helplessly as Warlock disintegrates. At the school, X-Factor and the other New Mutants and X-Men learn of his death and Rahne’s capture from a televised speech by the Genoshan president. Forge answers a phone call and tells the teams their presence is requested in Washington, D.C.

- Archangel decapitated Cameron Hodge in X-Factor #34. As Hodge explains in this story, he survived thanks to a deal he struck with the demon N'astirh to become immortal in X-Factor #32.
