Synopsis for "Kings of Pain part 2: Errant Knights"
The New Warriors and X-Force battle each other until Cable, having recognized Chord from his mercenary days, has Domino check the team’s databanks and verify the Warriors are superheroes. Marvel Boy explains that Genetech hired the Warriors for protection, and Genetech executives Furmintz and Rosen reveal the company was hired to develop a specific genetic matrix. While Genetech did not hire the Alliance of Evil, the energy the Alliance has been collecting matches their genetic material. In Manhattan, AIM continue their plans as Harness and Piecemeal remain at large while, in Vail, the two masterminds behind these events keep playing chess. Harness teleports to an oil refinery in Anchorage, Alaska and forces Piecemeal to absorb more energy, causing him to grow obese. The Warriors and X-Force split into three groups. Cable, Chord, Domino, Night Thrasher, and Silhouette briefly break Alliance member Frenzy out of a Quebec prison. Cable forces her to admit AIM hired the Alliance and is operating out of a Brooklyn warehouse. Firestar, Marvel Boy, Shatterstar, Speedball, and Warpath storm the warehouse and learn AIM was intending to use the collected energy to animate android drones. Boom-Boom, Cannonball, Feral, Namorita, and Nova break into the bunker beneath Xavier’s School and use Cerebro to track the energy pattern. Cannonball learns Genetech’s data comes from Muir Island. Meanwhile, Harness takes Piecemeal to Tokyo, and they collect more energy. The Warriors and X-Force regroup at Genetech, pool their information, and locate the center of the energy in Edinburgh. Cable says they need to contact Moira MacTaggert on Muir Isle as AIM is trying to resurrect her son, Proteus.
