Synopsis for "Forces of Darkness, Forces of Light part 4: The Unbearable Darkness of Being"

Firestar, Speedball, Crystal, Darkhawk, Spider-Man, Thing, and Turbo watch Darkling rise into the sky on a pillar of Darkforce and try to justify his attack on the city by citing all the hardship he has endured. Working together, the heroes hold off the Darkforce-controlled mob and debate how to stop him. Firestar blasts Darkling with microwaves and calls out his hypocrisy as he uses his pain to justify hurting others. Imprisoned in the Darkforce pillar, Dr. Strange deploys the Eye of Agamotto into the city. At the Ambrose Building, it watches the Darkforce attack Chord as he struggles to walk again. The Eye moves on to Greenwich Village where the Darkforce causes a wall to collapse on Speedball’s neighbor Carlton LaFroyge. In the rubble, he finds a scrapbook of Speedball’s adventures. At the Crash Pad, Dagger resolves to expel the Darkforce with her light powers even if it kills her and has Nova fly her to the Darkforce pillar. Darkling sees the Eye and gloats over using the Darkforce to pit the heroes against each other. Thing fights Rage, Darkhawk evades Archangel, Firestar blasts Shroud, Spider-Man saves Turbo from Namorita, and Speedball dodges Silhouette. Despite the potential radiation danger of her powers, Firestar unleashes a massive blast of energy, overwhelming Darkling and freeing the possessed heroes from the Darkforce. Furious at being manipulated, Namorita attacks Darkling, but Silhouette talks her down by arguing that more violence is not the solution. Dagger arrives with Nova, stuns Darkling with a blast of light, and reunites with her partner Cloak. In tears, Darkling insists only the Darkforce ever cared about him. Dr. Strange appears and uses the Eye to show him the love and compassion of the city’s people. Astonished, Darkling admits he was wrong to attack the city, pulls all the Darkforce into himself, and leaves to ponder his relationship with it. The heroes tend to their wounded, and Silhouette takes stock, saying that, in showing them the darkness, Darkling showed them the light as well.

Mike takes Mickey to a comics convention so he can get a comic autographed by writer Fabian Nicieza. Mike dons the Turbo suit thinking that will get them admitted for free, but it does not work, and they end up standing in line in the rain. Shortly after they get inside, a villain calling himself Weapon Y appears and threatens Nicieza for portraying him badly. At first, Mike and Mickey think it is just a publicity stunt gone awry, and she hoses Weapon Y down with water. He retaliates with energy blasts so Mike engages him.
