Synopsis for "Child's Play part 2: Sleeping with the Enemy"

Gamemaster telepathically brings Boomer, Cannonball, and Magma into his mind, explains who the Upstarts are, and informs them they have been kidnapped because the surviving New Mutants and Hellions are the group’s current targets. At the Crash Pad, Night Thrasher briefs the New Warriors on Justice’s undercover mission to investigate Shinobi Shaw and apologizes for deceiving them. When Speedball gets upset that he does not have a new look like the others, his kinetic field spontaneously creates a new costume for him. Just then, a squad of armored fighters calling themselves the Tribunal burst in and demand Firestar. In Madripoor, Empath and Moonstar fend off some street thugs just before Siena Blaze announces herself with an explosion. Before she can attack, Karma appears and takes control of her mind. As Gamesmaster muses about Firestar and Justice, the New Warriors battle the Tribunal. The fight ends when Justice arrives and telekinetically shatters the Tribunal’s armor. He and Firestar embrace, and he apologizes for deceiving her. Kymaera argues the team should take down the Upstarts one by one, but Night Thrasher and Justice say they should focus on defeating Gamesmaster. To get closer to him, they must surrender Firestar even at the risk of her life. Later, Justice delivers her to Shaw in Tokyo. Shaw promises they will use her as bait to eliminate the other Upstarts and overthrow Gamesmaster, unaware Gamesmaster is telepathically monitoring them. Bored at their predictability, Gamesmaster notes Trevor Fitzroy is confronting X-Force. Then, Siena Blaze appears to him and claims she has killed Empath, Karma, and Moonstar.
