Synopsis for "Wilder Hearts"

Reduced to a feral state by Candra, Night Man approaches the Xavier Institute while, inside, Gambit agrees to help Rhiannon heal Night Man’s duplicate. The duplicate rejects her help, and tries to tell Gambit how evil she is, but Rhiannon says he is just delirious. Suddenly, the duplicate spasms, and he and Night Man simultaneously sing the same song. Gambit hears a noise, realizes he never reactivated the security alarm, and leaves to investigate. The duplicate refuses to help Rhiannon spread her sorcery; she warns he shall die before she takes orders from him. Standing before an open window, Gambit demands the intruder show himself, and Night Man responds by attacking. Gambit strikes Night Man with a charged card and is stunned to see who he is. Then, Night Man grabs Gambit and shocks him with electricity. The duplicate comes to join the fight, but Gambit gets distracted, allowing Night Man to knock him out. The duplicate notices both he and Night Man deteriorate more as Night Man becomes more violent. Then, Rhiannon appears and blasts them both unconscious. Back in the Ultraverse’s San Francisco, Gale mourns Night Man’s disappearance, but his father Eddie ignores her and leaves her apartment. Walking down the street, he recalls falling in love with Rhiannon when he was a young student in London. He dumped her after she killed someone and tried to feed him their heart. She promised to leave him alone, but they had an infant son. At the Xavier Institute, Rhiannon has tied up Gambit and both Night Men, and she intends to eat Gambit’s organs to fuel her power. Before she can, Candra arrives and offers to help for the right price.
