Synopsis for "The Night Man Before Christmas!"
Eddie Domingo wakes up to Night Man sitting in his bedroom, they discuss the importance of family, and Johnny suggests they go see a show. That evening, Eddie takes Johnny to a performance of Rigoletto at the opera house and explains the plot. As the opera ends, a man seated in front of them runs out and, blaming the city for the death of his daughter, detonates a bomb on the steps of City Hall. A week later, he sets off a bomb in Union Square and, now calling himself Rigoletto, leads a gang in robbing in a jewelry store. Night Man shows up to stop them, and Rigoletto claims Night Man killed his daughter. Night Man insists he did not, but Rigoletto knocks him out with a small explosive. Later, Rigoletto lets his gang have all the loot and recalls his past. A mining engineer in Utah, he was injured in an explosion and left hunchbacked. His wife left him and their daughter over the injury. When his daughter grew up, she moved to San Francisco only to be murdered and disfigured. At her funeral, he saw what was done to her and went insane. At Playland, Night Man accesses the police database and discovers Rigoletto’s daughter was Ginger Robinson, the victim he failed to save from Deathmask. On Christmas Eve, a federal official addresses the city board of supervisors and proposes refurbishing Alcatraz as a prison for Ultra villains. When Rigoletto and his gang interrupt the meeting and activate a bomb, Night Man removes his disguise, fights the gang, and invokes Ginger’s name to talk Rigoletto down. Rigoletto listens and disarms the bomb, but one of his gang reactivates it. Night Man breaks through a door and evacuates the building, but a city supervisor is killed in the blast. On Christmas Day, Johnny and Eddie learn from a radio broadcast that the board has approved reopening Alcatraz and voted to sell Playland to Russell Peters.
