Synopsis for the 1st Story
After tackling Night Man at Stonehenge, Night Man’s duplicate finds himself transported to an amusement park. At first, he thinks he is back in Playland, but when he asks some security guards to take him to Eddie Domingo, they do not know who that is. Realizing he has been transported to a parallel Earth, the duplicate panics, punches a guard, and flees into an underground maintenance tunnel. Wolverine is there and attacks him, convinced he is a minion of the villain Arcade. They exchange blows until the duplicate convinces Wolverine he is from a different world. Wolverine explains they are in a Murderworld, one of Arcade’s lethal amusement parks. Unable to return to the surface, the duplicate follows Wolverine through a series of deathtraps, including a gauntlet of machine guns, a killer clown robot, and a wave of taffy. Finally, they enter a room with a floor of lighted squares, and the duplicate deduces the pattern of squares they must step on to avoid more traps and reach a tunnel on the other side. To Arcade’s disappointment, Wolverine and the duplicate survive and escape through a drainage tunnel. Once they are outside, Wolverine offers to connect the duplicate with a superhero team, but the duplicate insists he must face this new world alone and walks away.
