Synopsis for "An Affair to Remember"
Flying over the Hudson Valley, Rogue flirts with a fighter pilot in his jet then descends to meet with Gambit. In a Mississippi sanatorium, Cody Robbins lies comatose as he has since age 14. In New Orleans, Gambit’s ex-wife Bella Donna Boudreaux and the Assassins Guild are visiting her father’s grave when their former benefactress Candra approaches and suggests they negotiate a new pact. In New York, a pair of bikers harass Rogue after she lands outside Salem Center. Gambit arrives to defend her, but Rogue grabs them and drops them on the roof of the sheriff’s station. She and Gambit go to Harry’s Hideaway, and she explains she is about to make her yearly visit to see Cody. As a teenager, she learned she was a mutant when Cody kissed her, and her absorption power put him into a coma. Gambit tells her it is in the past, but she insists that event will always be with her, and she walks out. In New Orleans, Bella Donna affirms her leadership of the Assassins Guild by slaying a pack of Hand ninjas then orders the Guild to carry out her plan. At the Xavier Institute, Gambit makes up with Rogue, they flirt and say goodbye, and she flies away. Gambit asks Storm how to get closer to Rogue, and Storm advises him to give her space. The next night in Mississippi, Rogue enters Cody’s room and finds him missing. Led by the intangible Fifolet, members of the Assassins Guild ambush her and beat her. Communicating through Guild member Singer, Bella Donna reveals she has kidnapped Cody in revenge for Rogue absorbing her memories and warns Gambit is next. Then, she and the Guild members vanish. Outside the Xavier Institute, the assassin Gris Gris watches Gambit take off after Rogue on his motorcycle and informs Bella Donna. Flying over the Mississippi River, Rogue races to save Cody and Gambit.
