Synopsis for "The Quality of Mercy"

Erik kills a couple of street thugs mugging a woman and feeds on them. He moves to feed on the woman too, but Noel’s injunction against killing innocents stops him. Just then, a voice only Erik can hear commands him to draw runes on a wall in blood. In the Negative Zone, Annihilus overpowers Rune and reads his mind, discovering the existence of Ultras. Deciding Rune could prove useful, Annihilus imprisons him in a cosmic singularity. Back in L.A., Mills and Skinner find Erik’s victims and the blood on the wall. As Aladdin agents arrive to take over, Skinner arranges to get a set of crime scene photos off the books. In Aladdin’s desert base, two scientists and a squad of bio-constructs attempt to question and restrain Adam Warlock, but he easily fends them off and escapes, musing on the purpose of his latest incarnation. In Gemini’s hideout, Noel reassumes control, generates a cocoon around himself, and emerges transformed into a glowing, golden man. A homeless man asks Noel to heal him, but Noel refuses in the name of solving bigger problems. Soon, Noel comes upon a group of terrorists holding hostages in a high-rise building. He bursts in and kills most of the terrorists, but one remains and detonates a bomb, blowing up the building.
