Synopsis for "The Mutant Agenda part 2: Caught in the Act"
Spider-Man uses his webbing to hold the ceiling up long enough for Beast to evacuate the conference, but then it collapses on him. Beast digs him out, and they go after Hobgoblin. Herbert Landon overhears them, realizes where they are going, and tells his henchmen to take them out. Spider-Man and Beast track Hobgoblin to Brand’s research center, and Hobgoblin sees them arrive on a security monitor. Beast finds him and watches him download the mutation research to a disc then delete it from the company network. Spider-Man and Beast move to intervene, but Hobgoblin escapes by flying through a wall. Spider-Man gives chase while Beast confirms the data has been erased from the network. Armed guards catch Beast and take him captive as Spider-Man follows Hobgoblin to Brand’s corporate office. Hobgoblin confronts Landon, threatens to expose the truth of Brand’s research to its shareholders, and demands Landon reveal what he is really up to. Claiming Beast killed his friend Henry McCoy, Landon explains he continued McCoy’s research and fears mutants will destroy it. When Landon pulls a gun, Spider-Man bursts in and takes a shot meant for Hobgoblin. After Hobgoblin flies away, Landon thinks Spider-Man is a mutant and intends to strip him of his powers. In Queens, guards bring Beast to a secret lab for use as a test subject. Beast breaks free, but then the lab’s operator—Dr. Everett Burgos—traps him in a laser cage. Burgos explains that Landon refuses to believe Beast is Henry McCoy, and they intend to destroy the genetic mechanism for mutation.
